Parent Involvement

Education is a partnership between teachers and parents. To this end the College encourages parental assistance in classrooms following an induction process which includes Child Protection training for Volunteers. Assistance occurs in regular lessons, including Reading, Writing, Mathematics and Arabic from Kindergarten to Year 6, following training sessions with teachers, and reading assistance for Secondary students. Parent assistance is also welcome for external events including Athletics Carnival and Excursions. Through parental involvement students are given additional opportunity to practice skills and parents are included in the learning process. This greatly benefits all stakeholders; students, parents and teachers.
