English at Maronite College of the Holy Family allows students from Year 7 to 12 to develop a broad range of knowledge and understanding, challenging them to be inspired and succeed. Our curriculum is enjoyable, dynamic and intellectually stimulating and caters for the diverse needs of every student. It fosters the development of literacy skills and provides opportunities for all students to achieve their full potential through the various learning objectives, outcomes and assessment strategies.
Students can engage and develop clear and precise control of language through close study of texts by reading, viewing, writing, representing, listening and speaking for an increasingly wide range of audiences and context. Extracurricular activities such as Public Speaking, Debating and State wide English Competitions are also available to further challenge our students to discover and develop their unique talents and gifts. We strive to instil in our students the values to become confident individuals and equip them with the skills of lifelong learning.
